Well, i have often wondered about choices...often in life we complain about the lack of choices....we want this, we want that...blah,blah,blah...always craving for more, something more GOD....but what we don't quite realise is that when we have too many choices, we usually end up making the wrong choice....When we have few choices, we have to decide from among those limited ones....when we have too many choices, we get confused about picking from them....one is spoilt for choices....Yet critics would say that at least in the latter case, one exercised one's right to choose....but then they forget that the purpose of choices is to make a better decision....which might not happen if one is given too many choices.....Take the case of marriage... Let's say we have two friends Suresh and Ramesh....Both are on the lookout of prospective brides for themselves....Suresh's parents arrange for a girl to meet him...he meets her and they decide to get married...Suresh might feel that he could find someone better had he met a few more girls but this one is OK...Ramesh, on the other hand, meets a girl but turns down her proposal feeling that he will find someone better..he continues to do so with a few other girls that he meets up...he always thinks that girl1 has this thing missing,girl2 has some other thing missing..and so on...at last when he has met and rejected lot of girls, he becomes desperate and then would settle for any girl that comes his way in order to get married....while this girl may or may not be the correct choice, he always thinks that he has got a girl who is less deserving of him...
So the point that we are arriving at is after a certain point, too many choices fail to remain just a matter of making choice. Too many choices complicate things and may not result in making the most appropriate selection...
