Is having too many choices, a choice really?

Well, i have often wondered about choices...often in life we complain about the lack of choices....we want this, we want that...blah,blah,blah...always craving for more, something more GOD....but what we don't quite realise is that when we have too many choices, we usually end up making the wrong choice....When we have few choices, we have to decide from among those limited ones....when we have too many choices, we get confused about picking from them....one is spoilt for choices....Yet critics would say that at least in the latter case, one exercised one's right to choose....but then they forget that the purpose of choices is to make a better decision....which might not happen if one is given too many choices.....Take the case of marriage... Let's say we have two friends Suresh and Ramesh....Both are on the lookout of prospective brides for themselves....Suresh's parents arrange for a girl to meet him...he meets her and they decide to get married...Suresh might feel that he could find someone better had he met a few more girls but this one is OK...Ramesh, on the other hand, meets a girl but turns down her proposal feeling that he will find someone better..he continues to do so with a few other girls that he meets up...he always thinks that girl1 has this thing missing,girl2 has some other thing missing..and so on...at last when he has met and rejected  lot of girls, he becomes desperate and then would settle for any girl that comes his way in order to get married....while this girl may or may not be the correct choice, he always thinks that he has got a girl who is less deserving of him...
So the point that we are arriving at is after a certain point, too many choices fail to remain just a matter of making choice. Too many choices complicate things and may not result in making the most appropriate selection...

Anna....Anna Everywhere

The events over the last few days have been really extraordinary in the history of Democratic India. 74 year old  Anna has become the new Hero of the youth brigade....
a. Main Anna Hoon...
b. Anna tum sangharsh karo, hum tumhare saath hain....
rent the air of towns and cities across the country.....It shows how a single man can galvanise the masses across the country and galvanise he did...but how?Well the issue of corruption struck a chord across the masses and instantly from a poor daily wage earner to a crorepati was drawn to the movement....but the govt has to blame itself as well for bringing things to such a passe..for successive govts delay has been the best friend to weaken movements....it has taken 42 years for our MPs and still they talk of building consensus on the Lokpal....but they shud know that the  consensus is already with them....all of them are united against taking any step which will jeopardise there own business...
But all credit goes to Anna for making the movement a nationwide one....he did not err in dealing with the cunning Netas who have shown what they are capable of during Ramdev Baba's campaign...i guess Anna's long experience in dealing with MH governments and GOI has held him in good stead.....
Well the first battle has been won...but the war is still to be fought...after all we are dealing with a govt that has shown the capability of derailing similar movements and put in every effort to do so this time around as well...after all no MP wants to be accountable to someone else..they have never been accountable since independence....now other important steps need to be taken to further this movement towards a true democracy...we need the right to reject during elections, the right to recall the elected representatives midway...Indian democracy on the move...yippee

The Facebook Effect

I have to take a snap with this pose.... take a single snap of mine so that i can post i on facebook...just imagine others comments when i post this pic on facebook....THE FACEBOOK....What kind of organism is that?...It has become the single biggest shaper of our thinking....people take snaps so that they can post it on facebook....and relish the comments posted by friends on the same....the number of likes that one receives is an indicator of the number of people following...the number of people who like or dislike him/her....people are on facebook all the time....keep checking the wall for any new post...comments...sumthing always ticking at the back of the mind while u are at work or play....keep following who is  in relationship with whom....play games with your friends on facebook.....invite ur friends for events on facebook....share videos with others.....give ur personal reviews about movies, places through ur status msg......a whole world resides in facebook...and u know what is happening in the outside world thru facebook....
People who have got addicted to facebook behave the same way as a fish takes to water...well we are living life on THE FACEBOOK.

India is back in form

Today India did what they are best at doing...they have come back to their old ways...of losing on the trot....this reminds me of the indian team of the 90s....how often we would see indian teams on foreign trips losing shamelessly...but still our love for them just grew...over time they have attained God-like status.....but now it's time for us to stop over-indulging our players....they shud nt take the indian public for granted...while they amass their riches due to the public...they shud also remember that public memory is very fickle..u are only as gud as ur last series......Dhoni is going a former captain's way....he is in the team for his captaincy....one fails to remember when was the last time he scored a 50 in a test match...now that he has lost his golden touch may be it's time for him to make way for someone else...besides today indian players are so busy playing games other than cricket  as in TV.....amidst all this gloom and doom..we still have a few things to cheer about...our god Sachin is still around and so is 'The Great Wall of India-Dravid' while the Very Very Stylish Laxman still has his elegance and style left to serve the nation for a few more years...One wonders what will happen of this team when these 3 doyens of indian cricket are gone...no youngster has shown the gumption to raise his hand and say i am up for the job.....hopefully Viru will be in England soon and alongwith Gauti will turn around the fortunes of this team....

I am Born

Well come janta..this is my first restart at blogging...i say a restart bcoz I once tried to give it a shot.....but it got lost after  the very first shot....now after a pretty long hibernation i am back.....and i hope to make it last  longer than last time...i wish this restart lasts longer so that i don't have to write 2nd restart few yrs down the line..wish me luck fellas...
As for me,the first description i would like you to know about me is that i used to read a lot....much during my engineering days...i used to read anything i could lay my hands on..books,magazines,novels and the like..somewhere down the line the habit has become an unhabit...well that's not a word exactly in the english dictionary...but i would take such liberties along the way....
Writing is such a great outlet for one's inner self...to let your thoughts out in the open.....to express your opinion to none else but the empty spaces and not fearing about whether it will hurt others....i wish writing would always be free...when you can't express your feelings to anyone else...just pick up a pen and paper and scribble down....these days the keyboard and laptop have replaced the pen and paper....it feels so liberating, as if you are talking to your own self....connecting with your inner self....gr8 isn't it?
that's it for now..but will be back soon...for my take on things as you travel thru time with me and see the world thru my lenses...
